Session Accounts

A range of sessions and situations — each account reflects what the client described as the most useful part of their experience.

NN
Nur Nadia
Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Bearing Session

"I had three loan offers in front of me and no way to compare them clearly. The session did not tell me which one to pick — it helped me understand what the terms actually meant and what questions to bring to the bank. That was exactly what I needed. The one-page chart was simple enough to share with my husband too."

Business Process Review

"My business has been running for six years, but the way money moves through it was still in my head. The process map we built together on the day is now pinned in my office. The follow-up call a month later was also more useful than I expected — it kept me honest about what I had actually implemented."

August 2025

Faridah & Zul
Shah Alam, Selangor
Household Charting Programme

"We had tried budgeting apps twice before. They never stuck. What made this different was someone who actually checked in every two weeks and was not trying to sell us anything. By session four we had already reduced a spending category we did not even realise was an issue. The practice tasks between sessions are short, which helped."

Lim Mei Sze
Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur
Bearing Session

"I came in expecting to leave with advice on what to do with my savings. That is not what this is, and they are upfront about that. What I got instead was a clear list of what I needed to ask a licensed planner — which I then did. The session prepared me properly for that conversation rather than pretending to replace it."

Azril Rahman
Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur
Business Process Review

"My accountant kept asking me for things I did not know how to produce. After the review, I had a written invoice flow and an approval checklist — both of which made the next accountant visit much smoother. The software comparison table was also genuinely useful. I did not realise how different the options were until they laid it out."

Tan Kah Wai
Kepong, Kuala Lumpur
Household Charting Programme

"My wife and I had different ideas about money and found it difficult to discuss without it turning into a disagreement. The sessions gave us a structure that was not about blame — just about organising information. That alone changed how we talk about it at home. The shared planner file is something we still use."

Detailed Client Journeys

Three accounts in more detail — situations, what the session covered, and what changed afterwards.

Case A — Bearing Session RM 460 July 2025

Situation

A secondary school teacher in Cheras had received an EPF statement and a letter from her bank about a housing loan she had held for seven years. She wanted to understand both documents but found the terminology difficult without a guide.

Session Focus

The facilitator walked through each document section by section, explaining terms in plain English and Bahasa Malaysia. A one-page chart was built showing her income, fixed commitments, and the remaining loan balance in relation to her EPF Account 1 figure.

After the Session

She visited her bank the following week with a written question list. Her own account: "The loan officer said it was one of the better-prepared conversations she had seen in a walk-in." She has since booked a Bearing Session for her older sister.

Case B — Business Process Review RM 1,850 August 2025

Situation

A printing SME in Setapak with eight staff had grown to RM 1.2 million annual turnover, but approval for purchases over RM 500 was still informal. The owner spent significant time chasing payment confirmations that should have been automatic.

Session Focus

The full-day engagement documented the existing invoice-to-payment cycle across four roles, identified three stages where information was being duplicated, and built a two-tier spending approval framework. A shortlist of bookkeeping tools was produced with a comparison across price and features relevant to their size.

After the Session

At the four-week follow-up call, one bookkeeping tool had been adopted and the approval framework was in use. The owner estimated the time spent on payment follow-up had roughly halved. The process map was also shared with a new part-time admin staff member to onboard her within hours rather than weeks.

Case C — Household Charting Programme RM 4,300 May – July 2025

Situation

A couple in Subang Jaya — one with a salaried role, one running a small home business — had no shared view of their combined household finances. They had different interpretations of how much was available for a planned renovation and wanted to establish a clearer shared picture before approaching a bank.

Programme Focus

The six sessions built their household chart gradually — first baseline figures, then category tracking, then a forward planner mapping known costs across the next 18 months. Session five reviewed their combined bank statements and identified three direct debit subscriptions neither had connected to their spending picture.

After the Programme

They entered their bank discussion with a household chart, a 12-month commitment summary, and a realistic renovation budget range they had arrived at themselves. The closing summary document was used in that meeting. They noted that having a shared document also reduced household money conversations from tense to factual.
